SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO) — A state prison inmate has died at Mike Durfee State Prison.
According to the South Dakota Department of Corrections, Justin Copier has died of an apparent suicide on Sunday.
Copier was found unresponsive in his cell and was taken to a hospital where he was pronounced dead.
Copier, 25, was serving a sentence for aggravated assault from Moody County.
There’s been more than 10 inmate deaths in the DOC prison system since January.
