SENIORS in the US can save over $850 on eight freebies and discounts in August.
Huge savings can be made on everything from groceries to clothes and insurance.

Next month, seniors can make massive savings worth hundreds of dollars.
This includes $40 off a membership program for one of the country’s biggest retailers, Walmart.
Using the AARP website, members can save $40 off every year of their Walmart+ annual membership.
There is plenty you get with one of these memberships, including free same-day delivery, including on eligible prescriptions and free shipping with no order minimum.
You also get savings on gas and video streaming.
Moving to clothing, seniors can save $15 on Crocs, a company known for its comfortable footwear.
This applies if you spend more than $75 on the website only.
And what better place to wear your new Crocs than at the most magical place on earth, Disneyland?
Members are eligible to save up to $35 on Disneyland tickets.
This deal is only available for a minimum purchase of a 2-day ticket, and the discount will vary based on the date, number, and type of tickets purchased.
LIFELONG SAVINGS
Moving into items perhaps more essential than theme park savings, AARP is giving seniors savings on different types of insurance policies.
For example, with American Home Shield, you can save $36 or more on any of its home warranty plans.
An American Home Shield plan covers things that break in your home over time.
This could be something like the refrigerator, dishwasher, heating and AC systems, and water heater.
Car insurance tips
Here are some ways to lower monthly car insurance rates:
- Increase the deductible – this may increase the amount drivers must pay in an accident
- Ask insurance carriers for discounts
- Slow down on the road
- Keep off the cell phone behind the wheel
- Improve credit scores (in some states)
- Bundle insurance policies

This discount can be combined with any valid sitewide promotional offer to save you more.
It is only valid for new members; it is important to note.
You can also make savings on your car with a motor insurance policy from The Hartford that saves members $577 a year on average.
As a part of this, members are eligible for up to 10% off for requesting a quote online.
Other benefits include Accident Forgiveness and Disappearing Deductible.
HOME HEALTH
The final two savings focus on your general well-being in the home, both mentally and physically.
First off, members can save $21 on a subscription to the mental health app Calm every year.
The app comes with hundreds of meditations, relaxing music and sleep stories to make sure you’re staying as calm as you can be.
It also features things like mood check-ins, gratitude reflections and breathing techniques.
Finally, save up to $143 on a Hero Smart Dispenser subscription, designed to dispense your pills and medication.
The product sorts and dispenses up to a 90-day supply of 10 different meds.
The subscription includes the medication management app to help you manage your routine.
