Hot forecast ahead for the southeast; Storms still possible tonight

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO) — It’s a warm and humid morning in much of southern KELOLAND we get ready for a hot day ahead. Storms have stayed west and north of Sioux Falls so far, but that could change tonight.

Aberdeen had strong winds around 4:30am around 60mph. This is what it looked like on our LIVE Cam there early this morning.

Gusty winds also moved into Watertown overnight. Here’s a look at the camera view there.

Big storms rumbled across North Dakota last night. 90mph winds hit Grand Forks with that line of severe weather.

Back to KELOLAND, hot and humid weather is in place across the southeast today. Heat advisories are in effect for the Sioux Falls area.

Could we get more storms tonight? If the cap breaks, the chance is there for severe weather. The far northeast is most likely to see to the storms chances, along with our Minnesota counties late tonight.
