FARGO, N.D. (KELO) — The Sioux Falls little league team is headed to the Little League World Series, after defeating North Dakota 6-0 in the Midwest Championship Friday.
This is the fourth time Sioux Falls has reached Williamsport and second straight. They’ll play the winner of the Mid-Atlantic region on Thursday, August 14 at 6 p.m.
South Dakota got on the bats right away. They scored five in the second inning and another in the third to build a 6-0 lead.
That was plenty of support for starting pitcher Murphy Seefeldt. The right-hander threw all six innings in a shutout effort. He allowed just two hits, while striking out six.
Eight Sioux Falls hitters tallied a hit in the win. Tayson White went 1-2 with a double and two runs batted in.
