SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO) — There were 20 reports of fraud to Sioux Falls Police, an excess according to spokesman Aaron Benson.
The reports are all related to a scam involving SNAP benefits and EBT cards. Callers told police they could not access the funds in their EBT cards when they tried to use them.
There is no other information on how the scammers got the information.
“All the instances appeared to be similar,” Benson said.
Police are working to find out how the information was compromised.
