Suddenly, you’re left in the huge aisles, pushing around big, heavy shopping carts, and you could miss things.
That’s why it’s important to know what you’re doing before you go to Costco, like knowing the best time to go at all.
Shoppers are advised to avoid weekends when shopping at Costco, mainly because that’s when you’re likely to get the biggest crowds.
Going at times when there are likely to be fewer people around is always a good way to avoid too many shoppers.
One customer on the social media platform Reddit suggested that 7pm on a Friday is the “golden hour”.
Dinnertimes usually work better for quieter warehouses, and with everyone getting off work for the weekend, it’s a great time to shop alone.
MEMBER PERK
Costco recently implemented a new policy for its executive members, giving them exclusive access to the store before anyone else.
It was rolled out on July 1, and allows executive members to access the store daily at 9am.
Executive members have from 9am to 10am Sunday through Firday without anyone else coming in, and from 9.30am to 10am on Saturdays.
The policy has been so popular so far that some have even begged Costco to keep it a secret from shoppers.
In the comments of a TikTok showing off the new perk in action, many said this needs to stay as exclusive as it can.
One person wrote: “Once everyone becomes an executive member, then none will be an executive member.”
While another said: “It’ll change once people realize it.”

And others decided instead of hoarding the perk, they were going to celebrate it.
A commenter noted: “I went on Sunday at 9 and it was amazing.”
“I get so overwhelmed normally. 9-10 was amazing!” another chimed.
“I loved it! Walked in at 9, walked out at 10 with people coming in.
“Very little crowd, and easy, smooth check out. It was amazing!” a third added.
GOLDEN HOUR
This way, you can avoid overcrowding in the Costco warehouses if you go at those certain times as a member.
Executive members won’t have to fight other shoppers for the best deals, and they won’t have to wait in long checkout lines.
There was some criticism of the timing perk, however, with some saying that places like Sam’s Club do it better.
One critic noted: “So I’ll stop at 8 o’clock at Sam’s Club and then head on over to Costco at 9 got it!”
And another wrote: “I’m so surprised I didn’t find any comments about my very first thought when I heard about this new feature: are most people not at work at 9am…?
“I know I would never grocery shop at 9am, that is a very impractical time for me.”
