The first of this week’s two Giants-Jets joint practices began on Tuesday.

But Giants star wide receiver Malik Nabers was unable to appear on Day 1 of the practices.

Nabers was out as head coach Brian Daboll revealed that the second-year player was “rehabbing.”

The 22-year-old has had a lingering toe injury that has kept him out of numerous training camp practices.

And Nabers didn’t appear in the preseason-opening win against the Buffalo Bills.

The 2024 Pro Bowler said he is dealing with an injury that dates back from his college days at LSU.

It appears that Nabers will not play in either of the remaining two games.

He hasn’t worked in practice since last Wednesday.

“He’s rehabbing, and he’s doing everything he can do to get back,” Daboll told reporters.

Late last month, Nabers revealed to reporters that “there’s been talk about” toe surgery which could eventually happen.

“That’s not up in the air, but decisions will be made when the team is right,” Nabers said.

“But right now, I’m just focusing on locking in and getting ready for the season.

“Being out there with my guys, it felt good to be out there and run around.”

Nabers’ toe problem didn’t seem to trouble him last season as a rookie.

He posted 109 receptions for 1,204 yards and seven touchdowns in 2024.

Nabers made the Pro Bowl as a result of his stellar campaign.

The Giants and Jets will take on each other on Saturday night in the second preseason game for the two teams.

Big Blue and Gang Green experienced brutal seasons in 2024, finishing 3-14 and 5-12, respectively.
