WILLIAMSPORT, PA (KELO) — Maxen Snoozy struck out 11 batters Thursday as Sioux Falls shutout Pennsylvania 2-0 in their first game of the Little League World Series.
Sioux Falls will now play on Monday, August 18 at 6 p.m. on ESPN.
It was a strong start for South Dakota in Thursday’s game. The first two batters of the game got out and then the bats came alive.
Devin Aukes hit a single and that was followed by an RBI double from Camden Tycz. Kenson Henderson singled in a run a batter later and Sioux Falls led 2-0.
South Dakota’s ace pitcher settled in from there.
Snoozy pitched all six innings and allowed just one hit, while striking out 11. The third hitter of the game got a single for Pennsylvania and that was the last batter to reach base.
Maxen retired the last 16 in the win.
