Speculation is swirling that a payment worth $1,390 could be imminent.
But, in a blow to cash-strapped citizens, no payment is imminent.
A package for a stimulus check has not been approved by Congress.
There wasn’t a package for stimulus relief within Donald Trump’s landmark Big Beautiful Bill.
And, the Senate has since adjourned for the summer and will not return until September 2, scuppering any immediate plans of a stimulus package.
This is despite the fact there have been relief proposals made by lawmakers.
Josh Hawley, a Republican senator, has touted a plan that would see Americans receive individual $600 checks.
This would see a family of four pocket $2,400.
“Americans deserve a tax rebate after four years of Biden policies that have devastated families’ savings and livelihoods,” he said as he unveiled his policy proposal.
But, Hawley’s proposal has to overcome a number of legislative hurdles before it even becomes law.
It would need support in both the House of Representatives and Senate.

The IRS hasn’t provided any update on checks[/caption]
