Dallas Cowboys announced as NFL’s most valuable team at $12.8 billion after Jerry Jones bought it for 85 times LESS

THE Dallas Cowboys have once again topped the list of most valuable NFL franchises.

Jerry Jones’ powerhouses from Texas saw a 24 per cent increase in their yearly value.

According to Sportico, the team is now valued at $12.8 billion.

Owner Jones brought the team for just $140 million back in 1989.

And he has built them into a commercial powerhouse, even if they are starved of on-field success since the turn of the millennium.

Jones is currently locked in a contract dispute with star pass rusher Micah Parsons.

And his remarks about the holdout shed some light on his mindset.

“The Cowboys are a soap opera 365 days a year,” he smiled.

“When it gets slow, I stir it up.

“There is controversy. That controversy is good stuff in terms of keeping and having people’s attention.”

The Cowboys were the first team to break the $10bn mark last season.

Sportico now has two other teams beyond that value in the new 2025 list.

The Los Angeles Rams are second on $10.43bn while the New York Giants are third, valued at $10.25bn.

The New England Patriots are fourth on the list ($8.76bn) and the San Francisco 49ers fifth ($8.6bn).

The Philadelphia Eagles come in sixth ($8.43bn) ahead of the Miami Dolphins ($8.25bn) with the New York Jets eighth ($8.11bn).

Tom Brady’s Las Vegas Raiders come in at ($7.9bn) and the Washington Commanders round out the top 10 ($7.47bn).

Despite all their success on the field in recent years, the Kansas City Chiefs only come in 16th place.

They are valued at $6.53bn, just ahead of the Pittsburgh Steelers’ $6.51bn.

The Green Bay Packers are narrowly behind in 18th with their $6.48bn valuation.

At the bottom end of the list, the Cincinnati Bengals come in with a $5.5bn price.

The Jacksonville Jaguars are just ahead of them with a $5.57bn value.

And the New Orleans Saints, who hosted the Super Bowl this year, come in 30th place on $5.63bn.
