AN NFL beat reporter has labeled a preseason performance on the of the worst he’s ever seen in a damning indictment.
Teams are currently fine-tuning their preparations for the 2025 season.

The team won just four games in 2024 and is looking to bounce back[/caption]
But one training camp apparently didn’t go well, according to a local reporter.
Mark Long covers the Jacksonville Jaguars for the Associated Press.
And he slammed the team’s performance during practice Thursday.
He wrote on X, “Worst Jaguars offensive practice I’ve witnessed since Blake Bortles’ five-INT night.
“At least 7 dropped passes, 10 penalty flags, several sacks and sloppiness all around.”
Bortles was quarterback of the Jaguars from 2014 to 2018.
He threw five interceptions during a practice in 2017.
Long’s sentiments were echoed by other reporters who saw practice.
Mia O’Brien covers the team for ESPN radio.
And she said, “In my 7 years of covering the team, they have never had a true intrasquad scrimmage mid-week, the second-to-last week of training camp.
“Was it pretty? Nope, not in the slightest. Did the coaches make the players run sprints after + hold them accountable? Yes.
“Did every player/coach who spoke after practice reiterate that? Yes.
“The goal is to mentally and physically test the team at this juncture.
“As for the reported drops, I had the tally as follows: Joshua Cephus (3), Brian Thomas Jr (1, first play of scrimmage), Hunter Long (2), Trent Irwin (1), Austin Trammell (1).
“There was also a play with clear miscommunication between Lawrence, BTJ and Travis Hunter, as both receivers ended up in the same 5-yard radius, and the ball sailed in between them.”

They take on the New Orleans Saints this Sunday at 1 pm ET.
Jacksonville’s season will begin with a Week 1 clash against the Carolina Panthers on September 7.
The team is looking to bounce back from winning just four games in 2024.
Liam Coen was announced as the team’s new head coach in January.
