It turns out that out of the nine top places to get coffee, Dunkin’ is the most expensive.

Whether you get your coffee black or with cream and sugar, a small original blend will still set you back $5.31.

If you want to save but don’t know where to go, Panera might not be your best bet.

You will get more bang for your buck with a medium size, but even this will cost you $5.19.

So, for two cups of coffee, you’ve spent over $10 so far, but fear not, there are places where you can get a coffee under $5 a pop.

Chick-fil-A might not be the most obvious place to go for your caffeine hit, but it does offer a solid selection and price point.

An iced coffee at Chick-fil-A will ring up at $4.99, no matter how you choose to customize it.

Another huge name in the coffee game, next up, Starbucks, but for all the bells and whistles, it’s going to cost a pretty penny.

There are lots of ways to customize your drink at Starbucks, but a small iced coffee will set you back $4.25.

UNLIKELY SUSPECTS

The big names are out of the race, leaving a handful of less obvious places where you can get coffee for a steal.

While Sonic doesn’t serve a classic iced coffee, the cold brew with sweet cream can give you a similar experience for a very reasonable price.

Sonic sells its cold brew for $3.59 a cup.

Getting even cheaper, Taco Bell has revealed itself as more than a place for Mexican delicacies.

You can grab an iced coffee from there for $3.04.

Now, we’ve arrived at the top three cheapest places, and this is where the real savers are separated from the rest.

In third place is one of the biggest fast food chains in the US and the world.

At McDonald’s, the breakfast menu is both acclaimed and good value for money.

This stretches to the iced coffee, which you can grab for just $2.79 a cup.

In second place comes Wendy’s, with a cold brew for a very respectable $2.49, shaving 30 cents off its number three competitor.

Even if you spring for a caramel cold brew, you won’t be spending over $3.50.

And in first place, an unlikely hero: Burger King.

Yes, who knew you had to go to the king for the best coffee, taking the crown with a small iced coffee for $1.99.
