He will take over from Quinn Ewers in his junior year.
And there is already plenty of pressure on the youngster’s shoulders given his family name.
Manning is the nephew of both Peyton and Eli, who won two Super Bowls apiece.
His grandfather Archie was also a two-time Pro Bowl star in 1978 and 1979.
He has been tipped for a big NFL career of his own.
But, according to reports, Arch is only focused on Texas for now.
Manning is said to have no plans on entering the 2026 NFL Draft after his junior year.
Sources close to the quarterback say it would take a Heisman-like season for Arch to consider leaving Texas next spring.
Manning is a potential No. 1 overall pick if he enters the 2026 NFL Draft.
But he is expected to wait until after his senior college year and instead enter the 2027 NFL Draft.
Manning played 10 times in 2024 and started two of those games, winning on both occasions.
He threw nine touchdown passes in his sophomore year while rushing for four more.
Longhorns head coach Steve Sarkisian has been impressed with Manning’s development since he joined Texas.
“Arch is a naturally competitive guy,” Sarkisian told KXAN.
“I think people gravitate to him and one of the things I see right now is naturally, he’s leading a group of maybe some younger players.
“Especially the skill spots, his confidence I think helps them.
“I think they like competing against Arch.
“Some guys that have played a lot of football and they’re thinking here comes another spring practice and when’s the next game and it’s not for months down the road but yet every day is a game.
“Every day is competitive because they know 16 is going to bring it and if he gets them.
“He’s going to let them know about it.”
