A MAN’S wallet that he’d lost some 11 years ago was eventually found by chance in the hood of a stranger’s Ford.
Richard Guilford, a Michigan Ford assembly line worker, probably thought he’d never see his wallet again after he misplaced it while working on Ford Edges during a shift in 2014.

After finding the man on Facebook, he reached out and asked if the wallet was indeed his[/caption]
The wallet’s owner worked in Michigan and was seemingly doing works on cars when his wallet slipped out of his pocket[/caption]
According to a report by Fox News, it had somehow slipped out of his pocket and into the car’s airbox – a spot no one thought to check.
And after staying there for some 11 years, it was eventually found by a Minnesota mechanic, Chad Volk, who discovered it under the hood of a 2015 Ford Edge while repairing the vehicle’s cooling fans.
The car had traveled over 150,000 miles, passing through multiple owners and locations, before reaching Volk’s shop.
“I had to sit down and go through this wallet,” Volk told reporters, and revealed he quickly found the Ford Motor Company employee ID.
“I was surprised. You find stuff all the time, usually tools.
“I looked through it, and I saw a Ford Motor Co. badge. I thought, ‘I’m going to try finding this guy to see if I can get it back to him.’”
Volk naturally used Facebook to locate Guilford.
“Is this your wallet?” Volk asked.
“The first thing I said was, ‘Did you find that in a car?’” Guilford said, who recalled fixing electrical issues in Ford Edges the day he lost his wallet around Christmas in 2014.
“I never wore sweatpants to work, but I did that day,” Guilford added.
“And I had my wallet in my shirt pocket.”
It seems Guilford leaned over the car and the wallet must have slipped out of his pocket and into the vehicle.
Volk said that, as well as Guildford’s ID, the wallet contained $15 in cash, unused Cabela’s gift cards worth $250 and old lottery tickets.
Brilliantly, the gift cards were still valid, allowing Guilford to use them – even after all these years.
After exchanging Facebook messages, Volk sent the wallet to Guilford’s home in Petersburg, Michigan.
“And there’s nothing wrong with the money at all,” added Guilford, who found $15 cash in the wallet.
“It’s a well-traveled currency.”
“I would have never, ever, figured in a million years that it would still be there,” Guilford told Volk.
How often should you clean your car?

Professionals recommend an interval that may be surprising when cleaning your car.
Depending on where you live and what your typical day looks like, the suggested interval for cleaning a vehicle is every two weeks.
“Regularly washing your car removes everyday contaminants like tar, road debris, and bird droppings that can ruin your car’s paint job over time,” wrote Progressive.
“But there’s no one right answer to this question — it depends on factors like your lifestyle, the climate where you live, and how you store your vehicle when you’re not driving it.”
However, if applying a fresh coat of wax after every cleaning session or if the vehicle is parked in a garage, cleaning may not have to be done as regularly.
“Waxing your car creates a barrier between your clear coat – the layer on top of the paint – and outside elements, so it won’t be able to absorb and affect the exterior of your car,” the site continued.
