COSTCO has enforced a major food court shake up at all of its 630 warehouses, and it’s a hit among shoppers.
The change is part of a storied rivalry between two brands for dominance at Costco.

Confirmed back in January, Costco has stopped serving Pepsi in its food courts for the first time in 12 years.
It has been replaced by Coca-Cola, and by the fall, all of Costco‘s food courts will have it.
A previous statement from Costco CEO Ron Vachris, who said: “This summer we will be converting our food court fountain business back over to Coca-Cola.”
Already, it has been confirmed that Coca-Cola is now being served in Costco food courts in Lakewood, California, Cherry Hill, New Jersey and Springfield, Virginia.
Reddit reports of new Coca-Cola machines have come from California, Idaho, Illinois, Virginia, Tennessee, New Jersey, Minnesota, and Florida.
The decision to switch from Pepsi to Coke was deemed highly controversial at the time, however.
There were some on social media who dubbed the move the “worst decision” Costco had ever made.
And others expressed their disappointment over the switch: “Yeah it was disappointing.
“Had my first Coke in nearly 25 years and I didn’t hate it, but would have much rather had a Pepsi.”
But now the drink has bene widely rolled out, more and more customers are coming round to it.
Recently on Reddit, one happy customer said: “I LOVE Coke, won’t drink Pepsi so I’m happy about this.”
And another said that their warehouse switched over a few weeks ago: “About time! I hate Pepsi and not even had Mt Dew.”
COURT CHAOS
But a recent change to the Costco food court might make it harder for shoppers to get their Cokes at all.
In July, Costco was slammed for implementing a new system that stopped calling out order numbers.
Costco classic food court items
- Hot Dog with Soda – $1.50
- Pepperoni or Cheese Pizza slice – $1.99
- Rotisserie Chicken Caesar Salad – $6.99
- Turkey and Swiss Sandwich – $6.99
- Double Chocolate Chunk Cookie – $2.49
Instead, customers had to form an inefficient line to save themselves from just standing around waiting for their food.
It was revealed in a post from an angry shopper: “My local Costco recently stopped calling out order numbers.
“So last time I was there a whole bunch of people were just standing around waiting for the number to be called.
Eventually somebody saw this tiny sign that said that they’re not calling out numbers anymore and so people formed a rough line which then grew quickly as they very slowly got out one order at a time.
“It was not great and not efficient.”
Someone else then explained that Costco employees were waiting to see a customer’s receipt before they even started preparing their food.
One Costco customer replied to that saying: “Wow, that’s even worse!”
