MANY of us dream of owning a designer handbag but can’t afford the hefty price tag.
However, one woman couldn’t believe her good luck after spotting a $2,999 Louis Vuitton bag in a thrift store for just $140.

In a video, she shared: “I thrifted my dream authentic Louis Vuitton bag and I have the craziest story of how it happened.
“So I checked the bag section, I didn’t find anything.
“So I went to the showcase area and found the most beautiful, authentic Louis Vuitton bag that I was just so excited about.”
The shopper explained how it was listed as being CAD$200, which is around USD$140.
‘LOOKS INCREDIBLE’
She continued: “All the details looked incredible, so obviously it came home with me.”
Her bag appears to be the Mini Looping Brown which is 16cm x 27cm x 8cm and has a light brown loop strap.
The thrifted bag features the LV logo, meaning it looks like it could be the real deal.
One shopper explained: “The LV logos on the back of the bag are upside down, that means it’s real.”
You can currently buy it on Poshmark for $2,999, which is currently discounted from $3,299.
The video has racked up 162,000 likes, and people were impressed with her bargain find.
One wrote: “Nice find! A little cleaning and conditioning and like new!
“Almost positive it’s authentic.”
A second wrote: “It is real. We authenticate bags.”
And a third commented: “Incredible that stores like Value Village just get all this free merchandise and profit from it.”

REAL OR FAKE?
According to Lux Secondhand, there are some ways to tell if a Louis Vuitton bag is real or fake.
They shared: “Louis Vuitton is very proud of its logo, this is why a real item never has any parts of it covered by a handle, a stitch or a piece of leather to hold the handles. Even if the item is coming from a special designers’ collaboration, pay attention on how a logo looks like.
“Louis Vuitton does not come with any authenticity cards. In order to tell if the bag is real, manufacturer places a unique stamp with a place and date code on the inside of the purse.
“Also, pay attention to the fonts of the inside stamps; the company has been using the same font for years and the first and easiest letter to observe is ‘O’ in Vuitton. It must be perfectly round as a circle, not oval-shape like 0.
“‘TT’ in Vuitton almost touches each other and L has a longer first vertical line than the horizontal. Furthermore, it is perfectly centered on a square of leather, usually stitched with a mustard colored thread to the inside pocket.”
