Labor Day is fast approaching in the US, set for the first Monday in September.
This is done to honor American labor and the efforts of the workforce across the country.
This year, Labor Day will take place on Monday, September 1, and it will have a huge impact on banking services.
Chase Bank has revealed that it will be closing all of its branches for 24 hours to observe the holiday.
This will also mean that you will not be able to schedule any transactions for that day.
Deposits made on that day will not be processed until September 2, and any check protection exceptions will only be able to be viewed the day after, too.
All major banks will be closed on September 1, given that Labor Day is federally recognized by the government.
Americans have already had to work around several holidays so far this year, including Memorial Day and Independence Day.
On Labor Day, Americans are once again advised to avoid bank branches, as they will be closed.
However, most ATMs should still be accessible.
COSTCO CLOSED
Costco has also announced it will be closing all of its warehouses in the US for Labor Day.
Shoppers can still make online purchases through the website, but the orders will not be processed until after the holiday.
But rivals are swooping in to take the business from Costco, like Sam’s Club.
Sam’s Club is staying open on Labor Day, but will have different hours you need to be aware of.
Costco’s Holiday Closure Schedule
- New Year’s Day
- Easter Sunday
- Memorial Day
- Independence Day
- Labor Day
- Thanksgiving Day
- Christmas Day
Shoppers with a Plus membership at Sam’s Club will be able to access the store from 8:00 am and 6:00 pm.
While Club members will have from 10:00 am to 6:pm to shop on Labor Day.
But other stores will be open all day, and the hours will not be affected.
This includes places like Kroger, Target and Walmart, as well as Aldi, Trader Joe’s, and Whole Foods.
Non-grocery stores are also staying open on September 1, including The Home Depot and Lowe’s.
Americans going shopping on Labor Day are strongly advised to check with their local store to see what hours it is running, if it is open.
