SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO) – Long lines are forming at the Minnehaha County Treasurer’s office in Sioux Falls.
On Tuesday, the State of South Dakota faced a computer outage that impacted many state agencies, with the blackout lasting until late Wednesday afternoon.
Due to the outage, the Minnehaha County Treasurer’s office was unable to access the records necessary to issue license plates and vehicle registrations, causing the office to close on Wednesday.
With the power back on, the Treasurer’s office was met with a busy day on Thursday, as people piled into the building.
KELOLAND’s Karlee Phillips is looking into the impact of the outage and will have an update later today on KELOLAND News.
