THE first transfer window of the summer has slammed shut!
England’s Club World Cup representatives, Manchester City and Chelsea were in a race against time to make new signings before tonight’s deadline.
Pep Guardiola was hoping Lyon midfielder Rayan Cherki could complete his move to the North West after the two clubs agreed a £34m deal – but the paperwork is still currently being finalised.
Meanwhile Chelsea‘s proposed move for goalkeeper Mike Maignan is OFF and they’ll have to wait until the window re-opens after their bid for Jamie Gittens got rejected.
And Jobe Bellingham completed a move from Sunderland to Borussia Dortmund for £32m and is expected to withdraw from the England U21 to play at the Club World Cup.
