Mike Tomlin told to bench entire Pittsburgh Steelers team who look like ‘they don’t want to play’

MIKE Tomlin and the Pittsburgh Steelers won their final preseason game, but they didn’t look good doing it.

The Pittsburgh Steelers beat the Carolina Panthers, 19-10, on Thursday night.

The Thursday Night Football game wasn’t a great watch for not just the fans, but also for Tomlin.

Pittsburgh tallied a whopping 13 penalties for 104 yards.

Five of those penalties came with over six minutes left in the first quarter, with a bunch of starters on the field.

Steelers quarterback Mason Rudolph also threw an ugly interception in the first quarter as he underthrew a deep ball.

The defense also suffered a busted coverage that resulted in a Panthers touchdown in the second quarter.

Tomlin could be seen fuming on live television during numerous sequences.

During the game, Pittsburgh-based sports radio host Andrew Fillipponi, who works for 93.7 The Fan, strongly called out Tomlin’s squad and said that the veteran coach “should have sat everyone.”

“They look awful. Like they don’t want to play. Reminds me of a playoff game,” he wrote on X.

Pittsburgh would allow 171 rushing yards in the contest.

Still, the Steelers found a way to win the game.

But it’s safe to say that Tomlin wasn’t pleased with the performance.

“So we got some things to work on,” he said in the postgame conference.

One of the few bright spots of the Steelers game was the performance from backup quarterback Skylar Thompson.

He completed 11 of 13 passes for 153 yards and threw a touchdown.
