SHEDEUR Sanders has been given brutal facts after his disastrous preseason performance over the weekend.

Sanders had a superb preseason debut earlier this month, completing 14 of 23 passes and two touchdowns in the Browns’ win over the Carolina Panthers.
However, on Saturday, the 23-year-old went three of six on pass attempts and was sacked a stunning five times.
Cleveland head coach Kevin Stefanski elected to take out Sanders in the fourth quarter in favor of Tyler Huntley, who led the team on a game-winning drive.
While sacks are a result of a struggling offensive line, two statistics have shown just how disappointing Sanders’ sacks were in the contest.
First, former NFL scout Daniel Kelly pointed out that on one of Sanders’ sacks, the Colorado Buffaloes product held onto the football way too long as he lost 24 yards in the play.
Kelly compared the time it took to be sacked in the particular play to the average time it took for quarterbacks to throw the football last season.
“Shedeur Sanders takes another sack and held the ball for 6.13 seconds on this one,” Kelly wrote on X.
“To put this time to throw into context – in 2024 NFL QBs time to throw was between 2.42 and 3.13 seconds (NEXT GEN STATE).”
NFL analyst Warren Sharp then pointed out that Sanders is the first signal-caller to get sacked five times in less than 15 dropbacks in a preseason game in the past nine years.
Fans reacted accordingly to Kelly and Sharp’s statistics regarding the fifth-round pick.
“He’s terrible [laughing emojis],” one wrote.
“It was not a good outing,” another commented.
“Less than ideal,” a third said.
Still, Sanders appears set to begin the season with the Browns.

Multiple reports have indicated that Sanders, along with starter Joe Flacco, Kenny Pickett, and fellow rookie Dillon Gabriel, will be on the 53-man roster for the season.
The franchise cut the veteran quarterback Huntley, among other releases, during the weekend.
However, Sanders is fourth in the pecking order of the quarterback group.
He was visibly disappointed after being benched by Stefanski versus the Rams.

“In the heat of the battle, you want to be that alpha,” Sanders said, per ESPN.
“You want to be that dog. You want to be out there in that final two-minute drive.
“So of course, small things, of course frustrate, but that’s what happens when you want to be a player to be able to change a franchise.
“It wasn’t my decision… of course, that’s every quarterback’s dream and that’s what every quarterback thrives for – those moments – so it wasn’t me.”
