NFL’s heaviest player at 464lbs who was deemed too fat to play brutally CUT after missing whole of camp to lose weight

THE NFL’s heaviest player will not get a chance to compete this season.

Desmond Watson, the University of Florida product signed by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, did not make the team’s final roster.

Watson was the heaviest player in NFL history when he was signed[/caption]

Watson was signed by the Buccaneers as an undrafted free agent this offseason, but was immediately put on a weight loss program.

Watson weighed an incredible 464 pounds, the heaviest weight in NFL history, but the Buccaneers would not allow him to play at that weight.

During training camp and preseason, team general manager Jason Licht laid out what Watson had to do to get on the field.

“We have some milestones we want him to hit before we get him out there,” he said.

“He’s doing a solid job getting there. That’s all I’ll say.”

Watson spent the preseason on the non-football injury list while working on his weight.

He spent practices and games on the sidelines while trying to slim down.

However, it appears that Watson did not hit the milestones that the Buccaneers set for him.

It was announced on Monday that Watson was released by the Buccaneers after missing all of training camp.

With his weight still an issue, it is unclear what his future in football looks like.

NFL fans still think Watson can break into the league though, and shared their thoughts on social media.

“Cowboys need a run stopper,” one fan said.

“Gurantee the Bucs sign him to their practice squad,” another fan said.

“I hope the bears get him,” a third fan said.

Alongside Watson, the Buccaneers also released Shilo Sanders.

Sanders was an undrafted free agent like Watson, but wasn’t able to stick on the team’s roster.
