THE Summer I Turned Pretty star Gavin Casalegno has fled to Bali with his wife Cheyanne after receiving some rather vicious online hate.

The plot of the series centers around a love triangle between teenagers Belly Conklin (Lola Tung) and brothers Jeremiah and Conrad Fisher (Christopher Briney).
Because of his role in the series, Gavin gets a substantial amount of hate online.
And as the series continues to play out this summer, the hate he is receiving is dramatically increasing as people take their frustrations about the character out on him.
But Gavin, 25, seems to be brushing off the hate while holidaying in Bali with his wife Cheyanne.
Three days ago, Gavin shared a hunky video clip of him topless while showering beneath a shower in the sunshine.
“In Bali,” he captioned the post.
One day later, he shared a video of him and his wife Cheyanne frolicking around a picturesque location as they held hands and looked totally smitten.
Having fled to Bali amid the backlash his character is receiving, many of his fans flocked to the comments of the post to show their support for the actor.
One person penned, “Hey Gavin, lots of love to you! You have played your role so well! Please know that fans love you irrespective of your part in TSITP.”
Another added, “Gavin! You’re an amazing actor!! Don’t let the ones that are negative get to you!”
“Great job playing a very complex character!! Not team Jeremiah (sorry lol) but definitely looking forward to how great your career will be,” penned a third.
A fourth then said, “Imagine being such a talented actor that your project has everyone losing their minds. BRAVO enjoy all that comes with it and may more great roles come your way!!!”
While a fifth penned, “Sending you much love, people hating on you shows how great of an actor you are! But please know people dislike the character NOT you.”
And a sixth said, “Y’all are the CUTEST!!!!! I’m sad that people are being rude to you.”
Gavin recently responded to the hate and backlash he has been receiving on behalf of his character Jeremiah.
Speaking to The New York Times about his character, Gavin said, “They tend to dislike him, yes.
“I don’t check Instagram anymore, so I really haven’t seen that much hate.”
He added, “The only thing that I see is my sister sending me the memes that are really funny.
“I think it’s important to also understand and realize that this is a fictional story — and it’s also not me.”
He added, “I don’t think there’s a single human being in the world who can carry the emotional negativity to the degree that stuff like this happens.
“And I think that’s why Amazon did a good job of stepping in and being like, ‘Hey, no bullying.’ Though, not really going so well.”
