On Tuesday, McAfee was absent on TPMS yet again, as he hasn’t worked on the show since August 14.
In the meantime, numerous personalities have filled in for the 38-year-old, including NFL insider Ian Rapoport, analyst Peter Schrager, and the usual co-host AJ Hawk.
But this time, ESPN college football analyst Kirk Herbstreit took over, to the amazement of sports fans.
However, the 56-year-old wasn’t talking in the first several seconds of the show’s introduction.
“Kirk, we’re live,” one of TPMS’s co-hosts told Herbstreit.
But Herbstreit finally introduced himself as he gave an introduction line that McAfee usually yells out.
“Hello beautiful people, we’re here at the Thunderdome on this Tuesday, August 6,” he said.
Herbstreit and the rest of TPMS’s co-hosts then yelled, “FOOTBALL!”
The ESPN star also brought his dog, Peter, to the “Thunderdome” studio in Indianapolis, Indiana.
The golden retriever ran around the studio to the delight of Herbstreit and the show’s stars.
During the show, Herbstreit got to speak with numerous guests, including the legendary broadcaster Al Michaels, Ohio State coach Ryan Day, and ESPN NFL insider Adam Schefter, among others.
Fans were impressed with Herbstreit’s hosting work on social media.
“Good choice going with Herbe,” one wrote.
“Hell yeah,” another commented.
