THE Cincinnati Bengals have made a major move in their quarterback room just days before the 2025 season.
The Bengals will have just two QBs on their roster in Joe Burrow and backup Jake Browning.

Desmond Ridder, a third round NFL Draft pick in 2022, is on the move again.
Ridder, 25, only moved back to Cincinnati in July after his successful stint at college level.
Since leaving the Atlanta Falcons in 2024, Desmond has signed for three franchises.
The former Arizona Cardinal has never completed more than one season at any.
Per Tom Pelissero of the NFL Media, Ridder was cut as the Bengals reduced their squad to 53 players.
The quarterback was seen as dispensable following his move from the Las Vegas Raiders.
The Louisville native only made six appearances and one start for the Las Vegas.
The 2021 College Football Playoff finalist failed to make an impact in pre-season for the Bengals despite initial positive reports.
After pre-season Week 3, where Cincinnati faced the Indianapolis Colts, head coach Zach Taylor appeared to be happy with Ridder’s progress:
“I was pleased how he came in,” the coach said.
“He came in the day before training camp, picked up the offense, did a great job trying to affect his teammates and fitting into the quarterback room.
“I appreciate all that about him.
“I know today he probably needed to be cleaner in some areas, but I appreciate his work ethic, I appreciate his attitude, and I appreciate how he fit in as a Cincinnati Bengal.
“Again, we’ll continue to move on with him and everybody else.”
Meanwhile, Ridder seemed disappointed with his performance.

The quarterback said, “Obviously, I thought I could have done better.”
When asked if he could still start as a quarterback in the NFL, he answered “Yeah, 100 percent.
“Like I said, I’ve got to clean some things up, but at the end of the day, I know what my capabilities are.
“At the end of the day, you’ve just got to go out there and execute.”
Ridder’s most successful NFL campaign came in 2023, where he participated in 15 matches.
He threw for 2.836 yards and 12 touchdowns during the season with the Falcons.
