AN NFL quarterback has landed on a new team just days after being cut by the New York Giants.
The new addition will likely be a third string on his new franchise.

Tommy DeVito, 27, has joined the New England Patriots after his release from the New York Giants.
The “Italian Stallion” had become a fan favorite with the Giants, affectionately referred to as “Tommy Cutlets.”
However, DeVito failed to make the Giants’ 53-man squad for 2025.
The franchise has Russell Wilson, Jameis Winston and rookie Jaxson Dart on the active roster.
Coach Brian Daboll said DeVito “did everything he was asked to do in training camp,” but no franchise keeps four QBs.
“We just miss him being in the room,” starter Wilson said.
“I think Tommy has done a tremendous job, what he brought to the table every day at practice.
“I think obviously on the field, you always want your teammates to show out and do well, to get opportunities like he just got.”
The Giants will enter the 2025 season without any of the quarterbacks who were on the 2024 roster.
After clearing waivers, DeVito seems destined for QB3 in New England behind Drake Maye and Joshua Dobbs.
The 27-year-old previously set the NFL on fire with his performances at quarterback for the Giants after injuries to Daniel Jones and Tyrod Taylor.
The undrafted rookie passed for 1101 yards with eight touchdowns and just three interceptions in six games in 2023.
DeVito also ran for 195 yards and a touchdown as he became a sensation overnight.
He was unable to maintain that form in 2024, managing only 257 yards and no touchdowns in two appearances.
New England will be DeVito’s second team after going undrafted in 2023.

He was born in Livingston, New Jersey, just a 30-minute drive from the Giants’ home MetLife Stadium.
The Patriots came up against an in-form DeVito during preseason.
The former Illinois and Syracuse college player went 17-of-20 for 198 yards with three touchdowns and no interceptions.
“Obviously, he played well against the Patriots.” Giants quarterback Wilson said.
“I know he’ll do well there.
“I think his mentality will be right there and he’ll do a great job.
“He’s a brother to us, and we’ll definitely miss him in our room.”
