Now, appearing on their podcast, Cate and Ty: Break It Down, Tyler has spoken out about his autism, and said initially he “got really sad.”
The reality star was asked by wife Catelynn Lowell: “So what did it feel, I mean, what did it feel like when you got the diagnosis back that you are on the spectrum? Did it make sense? Did a lot of things make sense?”
He responded, saying: “It felt like a big sigh of relief. And then I got really sad and I was like, wow.”
Cate questioned why he was really sad, to which Ty replied: “Because I just thought about all the stuff I went through as a kid.
“Because I felt so sad for that little kid who just went and just was like, ‘what’s wrong with me? What’s wrong with me? Something’s wrong. Why am I not normal? Why is this so easily for other people? And probably why can’t I just shut up?’”
He continued: “I even talked to her when we were talking. I was like, you know, there are certain things that I felt like I need to do as a kid that just didn’t fit with me. I wanted to draw.
“My mom was like, ‘you need to do baseball.’ You know, I wanted to create stories of my action figures. And I knew I didn’t fit. I knew it wasn’t right.”
“Growing up, my mom was so focused on me not having meltdowns. I thought I was just an ADHD hyper kid, whatever. All my behavioral issues in school [were] because I pretty much can’t control myself.”
Ty also spoke about whether he’ll get any treatment going forward, adding: “I could try multiple different things … it’s just the way my brain works.
“Instead of trying to fix it, let’s just try to live with this thing and I think knowing this information makes me better aware.”
Since sharing the news of his diagnosis, Ty has been flooded with supportive messages from fans.
Commenting on the podcast clip on his Instagram, one person wrote: “Congratulations on your diagnosis! I have recently been diagnosed with ADHD and it has explained sooo much for me. I now understand myself so much better!”
A second person added: “Congratulations on your diagnosis and self discovery.”
And a third replied saying: “No shame thank you for bringing awareness!”
The star was heaped with praise from his 3million fans for being so open about his diagnosis.
BODY TRANSFORMATION
Back in April, Tyler impressed fans with his increasingly gym-honed physique.
He posted a video on Instagram of him looking buff, in black sweatpants and black muscle tank, while making a pre-workout protein shake.
The reel then cut to Tyler pumping iron in the gym, and some of his 3.2 million Instagram followers have praised the results of his workout sessions.
One Teen Mom fan says, “You grew up and says YES GLOW UP,” while another simply states, “Handsome”.
Other comments include, “Tyler is one sexy man” and “Gorgeous”.
Someone then even suggested Tyler is now starting to resemble a professional bodybuilder, asking him, “Have you ever thought about competing in men physique?”
It’s unusual for Tyler’s fans to be praising his muscular appearance, as it’s normally another part of his anatomy that gets commented on.
A few months ago, he posted a video making eggs for breakfast, but it wasn’t the contents of his frying pan that fans noticed, more the contents inside his basketball shorts.
Tyler captioned the video, “I keep losing count whenever I try to add up all my blessings. I’m not mad about it!”
To which one fan said, “The snake in the pants”.
And another posted, “Nobody else gonna mention it? Congrats girl”.
While a third fan, jokingly added, “I’m gonna buy you underwear for your birthday, drop the addy”.
MTV personality Tyler charged a monthly fee of $30 for people to get NSFW photos and videos of him on OnlyFans before recently disabling the account.
His wife Catelynn Lowell, 32, was responsible for running his account on the adult-sharing platform.
In 2022 Tyler told fans he was serious about changing his body shape and showed pictures two months apart to demonstrate his body transformation.
Speaking at the time, he spoke about his body struggles and revealed what he was doing to change things.
He said, “My whole life I hated my-ectomorph body. I’ve always been known as ‘the scrawny dude’ & I could never gain weight.
“I wouldn’t even take my shirt off because I always thought I looked sickly skinny & I hated my bony chest so much that I used to swim with my shirt on lol
“So I may not be where I want to be yet (still got a lot more work to do) but I’m just trying to soak in all the little victories I notice on the way.”
