Michael Irvin’s Micah Parsons prediction comes back to haunt him after making Dallas Cowboys ‘guarantees’

MICHAEL Irvin posted a hilariously wrong prediction just hours before the Micah Parsons trade.

On Thursday, The Dallas Cowboys traded Parsons to the Green Bay Packers.

Before the trade went down on Thursday, ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported that the Cowboys were having conversations about moving Parsons.

However, Cowboys legend Michael Irvin ensured that reporting was completely false.

“You can report all you want,” Irvin said.

“There’s no way they’re allowing Micah Parsons to go anywhere. All of this is part of the negotiations.

“I talked to Jerry the other day on my podcast, he was talking about it the other day.

“When he tried to make an offer and he said somebody told him to shove it up his rear.

“Honestly, it blew my mind. It blew my mind that any kind of conversation like that would be going on in a situation like this.

“Micah Parsons, I want him to take control of this thing and say, ‘I don’t care about you two and whatever y’all got going on. Get your butts in a room and get my money on that paper.’

“That’s what you need to be doing. So I’m hoping that is what gets done.

“But I guarantee, Micah Parsons is not going anywhere. Jerry is not that crazy.

“This is all what we call just negotiation stuff.”

Of course, that prediction hilariously ended up not to be true as Parsons was traded just hours later.

The Packers sent two first round picks and Kenny Clark in return for Parsons.

On top of that, Parsons was signed to a massive extension after being traded that made him the highest-paid non-quarterback in the NFL.

After the trade, Jerry Jones made it very clear that he felt getting rid of Parsons was the right move.

“I will say this: It was important that we did get, if we could get it, the kind of interest that we got in making a trade for Micah,” Jones said.

“He was an asset we got four good years out of. But when you’re talking about making the contract that he got and for the future, that’s quite a commitment.

“None of that counts about what he did the first four years.

“It goes against what he can do for you in the future.”
