Drivers may have to fork out ten bucks to park all day[/caption]

Parking at Depford Mall in New Jersey can get quite expensive as you might have to cough up $10, just to park your car.

Bosses at the mall have made a recent change where they offer a premium parking option, according to Fox29.

For ten bucks, you can park all day at a space that is close to the entrance of the shopping center.

The outlet reports that some shoppers are absolutely fuming since the change was recently put in place.

One customer fumed: “I’m like 10 dollars to park!! I ain’t parking here.”

A second angrily stated: “I think it’s just a way to make money honestly.”

While a third, Lamark Porter of Clayton, added: “Honestly, in today’s day and age that should be the last thing they’re charging for.”

The publication reports that he is employed as a smartphone dealer inside the location.

He also claimed that the new dedicated spaces only popped up at the start of this month, and most have usually been left empty.

The worker explained: “Working here it’s very rare I see someone even use it.

“It’s funny because I park right in the front just because I know no one else is going to park there. That’s a life hack.”

Another customer at the mall said she pulled into the spot but was absolutely flabbergasted by the price.

Marilena from Deptford explained: “I was looking at that too like why is it 10 dollars to park at the mall. Like, it’s crazy. It’s crazy.”

Look out for the QR code

At the mall, signs with a QR code for payment send shoppers to a dedicated page that corresponds with the respective spot.

However, there are spaces for Handicapped customers, military veterans and pregnant mothers also close to the entrance that will remain free.

In a statement given to the outlet, a spokesperson explained that the premium spaces are only a tiny fraction of the available parking.

The mall personnel said that the option was. “an optional convenience for shoppers, especially during the busy holiday season.”

“It covers less than 1% of the nearly 5,000 spaces at the center. Thousands of free spaces remain open.”
