After being dropped after the 2015 season, the 32-year-old never made it back into the NFL.
And speaking on the Nightcap podcast, Manziel discussed his issues with his former team.
He said, “I think I will always be looked at and viewed at because of how much hype and media and everything that was around me, and the city of Cleveland expecting me to be great, and that ultimately not panning out.
“I sit here today and I’m like, ‘F*** it, I think I’m going to be pissed at them and hate them forever.’
“So, it is what it is, man. No love for the Browns.
“I’m rooting for 0-16 seasons every season.”
Having been selected as a widely heralded college prospect, it never clicked for Manziel in Ohio.
He continued, “Was Cleveland the best situation for me to go to?
“Did they help me, knowing all the things they knew about me, with all the research and everything, did they put me in the best situation?
“Absolutely not. It was not the right situation for me.
“But when it comes down to it, you take all of that aside and you throw it away, you look in the mirror and you say, I let an amazing opportunity slip. It’s on me.”
Manziel burst onto the scene in college as a freshman quarterback for Texas A&M.
He broke numerous NCAA Division I FBS and SEC records.
This included becoming the first freshman and fifth player in NCAA history to pass for 3,000 yards and rush for 1,000 yards in the same season.
He also became the first freshman to win the Heisman Trophy in 2012.

Having been nationally recruited out of high school as a dual-threat quarterback, he led the Aggies to victory in the 2013 AT&T Cotton Bowl Classic.
However, even in college, he was plagued by controversy, being arrested in June 2012.
This followed him to Cleveland after he was selected as the 22nd pick in the 2014 NFL Draft.
But Manziel’s spell at the Browns was cut short after the 2015 season and two tumultuous years.
Most recently, Manziel is set to star in ‘Special Forces: World’s Toughest Test’ on Fox.
