A Thai bar worker rode a motorcycle naked to escape from a man who lured her into an abandoned building in Pattaya and attempted to rape her on August 30.
The 47 year old woman, Bee, yesterday, September 2, accompanied by her foreign husband, led a team of journalists from the Pattaya Ru Yang Facebook page to the abandoned building in Soi Pratumnak 6, where the attempted rape occurred last month.
Bee explained that she had already reported the case to Mueang Pattaya Police, but officers had not yet made an arrest or provided any updates.
Recounting the incident, Bee said she had finished work early because she wanted to return home to check on her husband, who had been consuming alcohol.
As she was riding past the abandoned building, a man aged between 30 and 40 shouted at her to stop, claiming he needed help with a foreign man who had collapsed inside. Believing it might be her husband, Bee stopped her motorcycle.
As soon as she parked, the suspect pulled out a knife and held it to her waist, forcing her into the building. He demanded sex and threatened to kill her if she resisted.
Bee’s phone rang, which the man mistook as an attempt to seek help. He immediately attacked her, beating her and slamming her head against the wall. She begged for her life and pretended to comply.
According to Bee, the man cut off her clothes and underwear before taking her mobile phone and 300 baht in cash. Just as he was about to rape her, Bee kicked him and ran out to her motorcycle.
She fled the scene naked, saying she felt more fear than shame. The following morning, she went to the hospital, where doctors found a head injury and a wound to her mouth requiring five stitches. Bee then filed a complaint with the police, supported by her medical certificate.
Pattaya Ru Yang reported that the building had long been abandoned by its owner, but some people were living inside. Each room was locked from within, and several motorcycles were parked nearby.
Journalists attempted to speak with the occupants, but no one opened their doors. The Pattaya Ru Yang Facebook page urged police to act swiftly to prevent the suspect from attacking other women or tourists.
