A FUMING Instacart customer has said they’re boycotting the service after a delivery debacle.
It nearly cost them over $1,000 had they not spotted a discrepancy on their receipt and acted fast.

“On Sunday we ordered $1.3k of food for a family of 5. Rather than buying what we ordered, the shopper bought Redbulls and Monsters,” the consumer claimed in a recent Reddit thread.
Included in the thread was a link to their receipt, which itemized the purchases picked up by the Instacart driver.
It showed an Old Spice deodorant pack for $17.49, mandarins for $7.49, a six-pound bag of carrots for $5.89, and several other unsuspicious purchases.
Except, the receipt did show two staggeringly large purchases for Red Bull at $389.90 and Monster also at $389.90.
The combined $779.80 in energy drinks shot the total up to $1,256.54.
While the baffled customer said the “bag of carrots, one thing seltzer waters, and a bag of clementines” were delivered, the rest allegedly never arrived at their doorstep.
This was on top of the energy drink purchases being incorrect in the first place, according to the customer.
“Instacart is claiming he made the delivery and cancelled our account. They’re refusing to refund us,” they wrote.
“The manager of the Costco said she agreed it was obvious theft but can’t help. All I can do now is wait for my credit card to contest the purchase.”
CLOSE CALL
A few days later, the customer updated the post, noting they “filed a police report” and sent that report to their credit card company and Instacart.
Instacart awarded them a complete refund about two hours later.
Still, the damage had been done, according to the consumer, and they pledged to never use the grocery delivery service again.
“No more Instacart for us ever again,” they said.
Several shoppers have also been having trouble with another prominent grocery delivery operation from a top supermarket.

KROGER COMPLAINTS
Kroger notably offers food delivery at most of its stores, where shoppers can place orders ahead of time through its website or mobile application and schedule arrivals within a specific time frame.
It’s an increasingly popular part of the company’s business model, growing 18% year-over-year, according to a news release.
Except, there have been a multitude of complaints pertaining to missed delivery times and forgotten merchandise on X this summer.
“I’ve been waiting for my 11-noon delivery for over six hours now,” a longtime Kroger customer snapped.
“Called customer service three times and each time they lied to me indicating I was the next stop and it should only be 20 minutes.”
“The ONLY reason I order from Kroger is the delivery. HELP!”
Kroger responded to the customer’s complaint, apologizing and noting it was “eager to assist.”
It’s unclear if the situation has since been resolved.
Earlier this spring, other customers claimed Kroger’s delivery deals were “fake” and there were refund issues.
Others cited “constant” issues after missing out on $212 worth of essential items.
