But the Fox NFL broadcaster has overcome some tough challenges in her personal life.

Andrews was diagnosed with cervical cancer in the fall of 2016.

She required emergency surgery but was declared cancer free later that year.

The sports reporter also suffered from fertility issues for more than a decade.

She called it “10 years of hell” before finally welcoming a son via surrogacy in 2023.

Ahead of another NFL season, Andrews spoke to PEOPLE for the Check for Cancer movement.

“Be proactive about your health,” she said.

“It’s so important. That’s something that I try to stress with my family and something that I try to deal with my own health.

“I hate going to the oncologist. I love my oncologist.

“I hate going for my checkups to make sure I’m okay and everything, but it’s just so important.

“It’s an early lesson I’m going to be teaching my son as well.”

Andrews continued, “When I was dealing with cancer, even now when I’m dealing with my infertility, my surrogacy journey, I talk to people.

“I talk to my family and use them as a resource.

“I talk to doctors. I just think it’s so important to get as much information as possible than to do it all by yourself.”

Andrews is used to being on television cameras in her broadcast career.

Erin Andrews’ rise to the top

Erin Andrews is a key part of Fox Sports’ lead NFL broadcasting team.

She is in her second spell with Fox having rejoined the network in 2012 after eight years at ESPN.

Andrews began her career with Fox Sports Florida in 2000 before working her way to the very top.

She has also worked for Sunshine Network in 2001 and 2002 as well as Turner Sports from 2002 to 2004.

Andrews presented College GameDay during her eight years with ESPN but rejoined Fox in 2012 to work on NFL.

And the sideline reporter has gone on to cover Super Bowls as well as the World Series in her stellar career.

And she encouraged communication when it comes to personal battles.

“It’s being honest,” Andrews said.

“Our last miscarriage, I tried to do a better job with being open about my feelings and my grief and so forth, whereas before, I kind of glossed over it, and I noticed that wasn’t the best.

“It’s not good for anyone.

“You’ve got to really talk it out, and that’s something that works for us in our life.”
