JALEN Carter could be hit with an NFL suspension over spitting at Dallas Cowboys star quarterback Dak Prescott.
The Eagles’ defensive lineman was ejected for the act, and a referee released a statement over the situation.

Just six seconds into the NFL season opener, Carter was ejected from the game after spitting in the direction of Prescott.
The incident took place during a dead ball when the Cowboys were lining up for their first offensive drive.
Footage displayed on NBC’s broadcast later in the game appeared to show that Prescott sparked Carter’s reaction by spitting in his direction first.
But Prescott explained that he needed to spit and didn’t want to hit his own teammates, and it went to Carter’s direction.
The Eagles still eventually came away with the 24-20 home victory.
After the game, referee Shawn Smith was interviewed and asked by a pool reporter, Zach Berman, about what led to the ejection of Carter.
“One of the officials observed him spitting on an opponent,” Smith said.
Berman then asked, “Why did that rise to the level of disqualification as opposed to a different penalty?”
“It’s a disqualifiable foul in the game.
“It’s a non-football act.”
Carter apologized for his actions following the contest.
“It was a mistake that happened on my side. It won’t happen again,” he said.
“I feel bad for just my teammates and fans out there.
“I’m doing it for them. I’m doing it for my family, also.

Carter is expected to receive a hefty fine, and it’s possible the league could look to hand the 24-year-old a one-game suspension.
NFL media’s Tom Pelissero reported that the league will review the incident and decide on further punishment for Carter.
He could miss the Eagles’ Week 2 games with the Kansas City Chiefs.
