The self-aware spectator’s quick-thinking saved him from becoming famous for the wrong reasons.

The incident happened during the US Open men’s championship game in New York on Sunday.
Carlos Alcaraz was facing Jannik Sinner on Arthur Ashe Stadium.
A ball flew into the stands early in the contest and landed near a man.
He caught the ball and looked to the row in front, where he saw a young boy turned round.
The man immediately handed the ball to the kid in a classy gesture.
He then casually carried on scrolling on his phone during the tennis showdown.
It was just two days after a Philadelphia Phillies supporter went viral.
The woman – dubbed “Phillies Karen” by internet users – demanded a dad hand over a home run ball.
The dad scrambled to retrieve a home run ball and gave it to his son.
The female fan then confronted him.
The father looked stunned and ended up giving the ball to her.
His son was left disappointed by being forced to give up the home run ball.
Both Major League Baseball teams were clearly watching the incident unfold in real time.
A Miami Marlins staffer presented the young fan with a swag bag in the stands.
And he was then invited down to meet Bader after the game.

Bader presented the fan with a signed bat as the youngster’s family watched on.
The female fan even made it onto SportsCenter on Friday night.
Hosts Nicole Briscoe and Michael Eaves were left shocked by what unfolded.
“Oh she went after him,” Briscoe said after the woman confronted the dad.
“She is big mad.
“Like he went into her space to get the ball, but she goes on and on and on.
“And the dad is immediately is like, ‘Well if it means that much to you,’
“Then he takes the ball from his kids glove and goes, ‘Here, you can have it.’”
