The Meteorological Department (TMD) warns residents to prepare for flash floods and water accumulation, particularly in low-lying areas and near foothills. Mariners are advised to navigate with caution, especially in areas prone to thundershowers, as waves in the upper Andaman Sea are expected to reach 2 metres, rising higher during storms.

The weather forecast from 6pm yesterday, September 9, to 6pm today, September 10, is as follows:

In northern Thailand, fairly widespread thundershowers with isolated heavy rain are forecast in Uttaradit, Sukhothai, Tak, Kamphaeng Phet, Phitsanulok, Phichit, and Phetchabun. Temperatures will range from 23 to 25 °C in the early morning to 32 to 35 °C during the day, with variable winds at 5 to 15 km/h. Residents in flood-prone areas should remain vigilant.

For the Northeast, Loei, Nong Khai, Bueng Kan, Sakon Nakhon, and Nakhon Phanom will see fairly widespread thundershowers and occasional heavy rainfall. Temperatures are expected between 23 and 25 °C at the lower end and 30 to 34 °C at the upper end, with southwesterly winds of 10 to 20 km/h. Low-lying communities should be ready for potential water accumulation.

In central Thailand, thundershowers with isolated heavy rain are predicted in Nakhon Sawan, Uthai Thani, Suphan Buri, Kanchanaburi, Ratchaburi, Nakhon Pathom, Samut Sakhon, and Samut Songkhram. Temperatures will range from 23 to 25 °C at the lowest to 32 to 34 °C at the highest, accompanied by southwesterly winds of 10 to 20 km/h.

In the East, Nakhon Nayok, Chachoengsao, Chon Buri, Rayong, Chanthaburi, and Trat will experience fairly widespread thundershowers and isolated heavy rain. Daytime temperatures are expected to be between 27 and 34 °C. Waves along the coast are 1 to 2 metres, exceeding 2 metres in storms, with southwesterly winds of 15 to 35 km/h.

For southern Thailand, the east coast will see scattered thundershowers with isolated heavy rain in Surat Thani, Nakhon Si Thammarat, Phatthalung, Songkhla, Pattani, Yala, and Narathiwat. Temperatures will range from 23 to 34 °C with winds blowing at 15 to 35 km/h. Waves will reach 1 to 2 metres.

On the west coast, widespread thundershowers and heavy rain are expected in Ranong, Phang Nga, Phuket, and Krabi. Winds will blow at 15 to 35 km/h, with waves reaching 1 to 2  metres, exceeding 2 metres during storms.

Bangkok will experience fairly widespread thundershowers with isolated heavy rain. Temperatures will range from 24 to 26 °C in the morning to 31 to 33 °C during the day, with southwesterly winds of 10 to 20 km/h, according to the TMD.

Residents should monitor water levels and avoid flood-prone streets.
