AMERICA’S Got Talent judge Howie Mandel has angered fans and his fellow judges who demanded he “take back” his surprising reaction to a fan-favorite act.
The comedian wasn’t as impressed as the rest of the room with magician Zak Mirz’s performance on Tuesday night.

It happened right after the Zak surprised him with a giant stuffed animal when fans believed his act went wrong[/caption]
Zak had everyone participating in the act, dealing out cards with various animals, before instructing them to rip them in half, shuffle them, and mix them together.
In the end, he instructed judges Howie, Simon Cowell, Mel B, and Sofia Vergara to show their separated cards, in which all but one were perfectly matched.
Howie appeared to draw the short straw, as his animals didn’t match, making it seem like the trick didn’t work.
However, long before that, Howie had already had enough and pressed the X buzzer.
Zak was expecting the blunder and encouraged the Deal or No Deal host to share his cards with the audience.
He then revealed a major surprise: Howie purposely received the mismatched cards (a half kangaroo and a half gorilla) because he had a massive gift in store.
Zak drew eyes to the back of the stage, where a giant, customized stuffed animal – a half-kangaroo, half-gorilla – explicitly made for Howie emerged from the rooftops.

Despite the grand gesture, Howie still wasn’t impressed, even when the entire room demanded that he “take it back.”
Simon, who’s known for his particularly harsh criticism, even defended Zak, calling Howie’s reaction “shocking” and uncalled for.
Howie didn’t back down and stood by his action, claiming it took Zak too long to get to the punch line, but encouraged viewers to vote for their favorite acts.
Many viewers agreed that Howie overreacted by hitting the X buzzer and expressed their thoughts online.
“Take that X back Howie!!!!!” one person wrote on X, formerly Twitter.
“Zak Mirk is a pure genius! Outstanding! Howie is a wacko to buzz that performance,” said another.
“#Howie learn patience!!!!!” added a third.

Simon Cowell – On October 22, 2015, it was revealed Simon was replacing Howard Stern on the AGT judges panel. He became a judge during the program’s 11th season and has since remained a series regular.
Mel B – In March 2013, Mel B was announced as Sharon Osbourne’s replacement on AGT. She remained on the show for five seasons before leaving in 2018. She made her grand return this year for season 20.
Sofia Vergara – On February 27, 2020, NBC revealed Sofia was replacing Gabrielle Union for AGT season 15.
Howie Mandel – Out of all the panelists, Howie Mandel is the longest-tenured judge on America’s Got Talent. Howie joined the hit reality series during the show’s 5th season, replacing David Hasselhoff.
Last month, Howie was scolded by judge Sofia for his cruel remarks toward a child act, as he again appeared to be the only one who wasn’t a fan of their routine.
He told them he thought they’d struggle against the other talent in the competition.
Although he was instantly booed by the audience and questioned by fellow judge Sofia, his opinion appeared to have an impact, as they were later eliminated.
Tuesday marked another round of the live quarterfinals, where the remaining contestants competed for the final three slots in the semifinals.
Fans will learn who made it to the next round during the live results show on Wednesday at 8:00 p.m. on NBC.
