NCIS’ Pauley Perrette ditches signature pigtails and lab coat for casual look as she’s seen 7 years after quitting show

PAULEY Perrette has ditched her signature pigtails and lab coat for a laid-back look in rare photos of the actress seen seven years after she quit the CBS show.

Pauley, 56, said goodbye to NCIS in 2018 after playing forensic scientist Abby Sciuto on the beloved series for 15 years.

Since then, Pauley has left Hollywood behind, making rare red carpet appearances through the years while living a humble life in Los Angeles.

The U.S. Sun has obtained exclusive photos of the actress on September 9 on a rare outing near her Los Angeles home.

In the pictures, Pauley could be seen trading in her signature black pigtails for blonde and faded red locks tied up in a messy bun.

Pauley went makeup free as she set up a ramp to back her Volvo out of a driveway with a high curb, sporting a white t-shirt, sweatpants and boots.

Later on in the day, Pauley was seen sporting a Yungblud t-shirt and jeans with a baseball cap and sneakers.

She was seen bringing her dog to a vet.

Pauley showed off her various arm tattoos in the t-shirt.

LEAVING HOLLYWOOD

After Pauley left NCIS, she starred on the CBS sitcom Broke in 2020.

But her first role after NCIS was short lived, as the show lasted just one season with 13 episodes.

Since then, she has made a handful of red carpet appearances.

Her most recent was in October 2024 for the screening of Studio One Forever in West Hollywood.

Pauley had her hair in a bun and wore a colorful mini dress.

In March 2024, she hit the red carpet again for Celebration of the Los Angeles LGBT.

Before that, she attended a red carpet in July 2023 for another Studio One Forever premiere.

She had her blonde, red and green hair down and wore another rainbow dress.

ON-SET FEUD

Pauley’s departure from NCIS, which she announced in 2017, came with controversy, as she had a falling out with longtime co-star Mark Harmon.

Pauley claimed she felt “unsafe” around the show’s star and went off on Twitter in a series of cryptic posts.

CBS TV Studios said in a statement in May 2018: “Pauley Perrette had a terrific run on NCIS and we are all going to miss her.

“Over a year ago, Pauley came to us with a workplace concern. We took the matter seriously and worked with her to find a resolution. We are committed to a safe work environment on all our shows.”

Pauley wrote on X in June 2019, “NO I AM NOT COMING BACK! EVER! (Please stop asking?) I am terrified of Harmon and him attacking me. I have nightmares about it. I have a new show that is SAFE AND HAPPY! You’ll love it! #HappyPlace Love y’all!.”

The Hollywood Reporter spoke with executive producer Charles Floyd Johnson, who said in 2023, “In Pauley Perrette’s case, there was an incident with the show with a dog.

The dog was Harmon’s, and apparently the dog bit someone. Pauley was a huge, huge [Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals] animal person. And then the dog kept coming with Harmon, and she felt it wasn’t safe for the show.

By the end of that year, she just felt like it wasn’t working for her anymore, and it was time to move on.

LEAVING HOLLYWOOD

Pauley announced her retirement in June 2020 over X, as she wrote, “I’m HAPPILY RETIRED! Finally! Woot! All I ever wanted!”

Pauley has spoken out about leaving the spotlight for a more quiet life.

“I’m not ungrateful for the benefits that it gave to me but I’m a different person now and I want to be here for it — the good and the bad and the painful,” she told Hello in 2024.

“I want to be me all the time, and it takes a good amount of courage for me to say that to myself but it’s authentically how I feel.”

During her time in Hollywood, she also starred on The Drew Carey Show, Almost Famous and other shows.
