TERENCE CRAWFORD believes Netflix’s introduction to boxing can help punch the sport to the same heights as the NBA and NFL.
Crawford faces Canelo for the undisputed super-middleweight titles on Saturday in a bonafide Las Vegas super-fight.

It is only Netflix’s third boxing event having debuted in November when Jake Paul fought Mike Tyson – who made a comeback aged 58.
Despite the controversy surrounding the bout amid Tyson’s age – over 100 MILLION tuned in to watch Paul’s eight-round points win.
The YouTuber-turned-boxer then promoted Katie Taylor’s trilogy victory over Amanda Serrano on the streaming service – with drew six million viewers.
Now Crawford, 37, takes on Canelo, 35, for all four 168lb titles in a blockbuster bout for the ages with the masses set to tune in.
“It’s very important,” Crawford said on Netflix’s involvement in the fight.
“Because, if you look at boxing back in the day, boxing was like the number one sport and In US before NBA and NFL took over.
“But the reason why was because it was on regular TV and more people can take notice of it.
“When you was looking at all the mega fights back in the days like Sugar Ray Leonard they was fighting on regular TV.

“So it’s great to be able to be on Netflix and it’s great to have those people that don’t have cable to be able to witness a fight like this.”
As well as Netflix – UFC boss Dana White behind the fight in his first introduction as a boxing promoter.
“It’s not just Dana, it’s Netflix as well, this is a massive fight,” Crawford said.
“It’s all over the world right now, you can’t go to any site and not see Terence Crawford and Canelo being mentioned and talked about.
“So Dana, Turki Alalshikh, Riyadh Season, Netflix are doing a wonderful job promoting the fight.”
