THE Green Bay Packers held a minute’s silence for Charlie Kirk ahead of their Week Two NFL game against the Washington Commanders.
Kirk, a political activist for Turning Point USA, was shot and killed at Utah Valley University on Wednesday.

The 31-year-old was struck with a single bullet to the neck and died hours later in hospital.
Tributes across the USA have been made to the husband and father-of-two.
The Packers became the latest to join in the tributes when they held a minute’s silence ahead of their game with the Commanders.
Ahead of the silence, an announcement could be heard over the speakers at Lambeau Field.
The announcer said: “The National Football League asks if you would please join us in a moment of silent reflection following the murder of Charlie Kirk.
“The NFL condemns all violence in our communities. It will take all of us to stop hate.”
The Packers went on to to extend their season record to 2-0, beating Washington 27-18.
Quarterback Jordan Love put up 292 passing yards and added two touchdowns to his stats this season.

Elsewhere in the NFL, the Carolina Panthers have fired a member of their communications department over a controversial post following Charlie Kirk’s death.
Authorities are still searching for the individual responsible for Kirk’s murder.
The FBI have released footage showing the suspected gunman sprinting across the roof of Utah Valley University’s Lossee Center seconds after the fatal shot was fired.
The man left behind a palm print and shoe impression before slipping into the crowd of students, blending in as he left campus.
Moments later, he was seen vanishing into a wooded area where police later discovered a high-powered bolt action rifle, believed to be the murder weapon.
FBI agent Robert Bohls confirmed: “I can tell you that we have recovered what we believe is the weapon that was used in yesterday’s shooting… is a high-powered bolt action rifle.
“That rifle was recovered in a wooded area where the shooter had fled. The FBI laboratory will be analysing this weapon.”
The FBI have also released pictures of a “person of interest”.
President Donald Trump honored Kirk in the wake of the news of his death.
Trump announced that Kirk will posthumously receive the Presidential Medal of Freedom.
Paying tribute to his ally, Trump said: “We miss him greatly.
“Yet I have no doubt that Charlie’s voice and the courage that he put into the hearts of countless people, especially young people, will live on.”
