DEREK Carr isn’t ready to completely close the doors on his NFL career.
The former Las Vegas Raider and New Orleans Saint revealed that he could be open to a return to the league.

Carr got his first NFL action as a retiree last week, serving as an analyst for YouTube’s broadcast of Chiefs-Chargers in Brazil.
However, Carr would consider putting a pin in sports media in order to return to playing.
He went as far as to say that he is continuing his training despite being retired.
“I wouldn’t say never,” Carr said on the Dan Patrick Show.
“Because I’ve learned that when I say never, it usually happens.
“I think we’ve all probably learned that. For me, I’m training because I love to train.
“That’s going to be the rest of my life. I love to train.”
Carr shockingly retired in May at 34 years old after suffering a shoulder injury.
He decided not to undergo surgery, instead ending his career.
Carr forfeited his $30 million salary for 2025 in exchange for the $10 million roster bonus he was paid in March.
“I throw a football every now and then with my kids and to my buddy for fun because it’s part of my rehab for my shoulder,” Carr said.
“I’m still doing those things, I’ve always felt like, even though I’m done, if God wanted me to do it, I gotta be ready.
“I don’t want to go out there and not be ready. I’ll be ready, but I’m not coming back.
“Right now, today, I’m not coming back.”

Carr laughed and said that he was too busy coaching his sons’ football team.
The Saints could use a quarterback like Carr right now as they are without strong play at the position.
Spencer Rattler won the starting job from second-round rookie Tyler Shough, but he didn’t look very inspiring in Week 1.
Rattler passed for just 214 yards while completing 27 of his 46 passes.
