The Mexican star will be defending his WBC, WBA, WBO and IBF super-middleweight titles against the undefeated Crawford.
In May, Canelo became the undisputed 168-pound champion for the second time in his career after beating William Scull via unanimous decision.
That win has set him up for the “fight of the century” against the current WBA super-welterweight champion, Terence Crawford.
The 35-year-old icon has been boxing for just under a decade and boasts an incredible professional record of 63-2-2.
SunSport tells you all you need to know about his rock star trainer and corner team that share a lot of credit for Canelo’s success.
Canelo vs Crawford – All the info
IT’S finally time – one of the biggest boxing matches EVER takes place THIS WEEKEND.
Two of boxing’s GOATs will meet in the ring as they fight for pound-for-pound supremacy and the super-middleweight crown.
Saul ‘Canelo’ Alvarez and Terence Crawford have been fixtures in the top of the rankings for years and are considered among the best to ever do it.
Unbeaten Crawford, who beat Israil Madrimov to win the light-middleweight title last time out, hasn’t fought for a year.
He is jumping up two weight divisions to meet Canelo, having spent most of his career weighing in even lighter.
Mexican favourite Canelo has scored title defences over Edgar Berlanga and William Scull since Crawford was last inside a ring.

LATEST NEWS
Who is Canelo Alvarez’s trainer and corner team?
Canelo has been trained by Eddy Reynoso since he turned professional at the age of 15 in October 2005.
Alongside his father Chepo, Eddy helped Canelo to defeat Matthew Hatton, brother of former British boxer Ricky Hatton, to win his first world title at junior middleweight in 2011.
Canelo and the Reynoso’s have worked together since then to win titles in three other weight classes; super middleweight, middleweight, and light heavyweight.
In 2021, the boxing veteran beat Caleb Plant to become the first ever undisputed champion at super middleweight as he unified all four major world titles.
That year, Eddy Reynoso was awarded Ring Magazine’s Trainer of the Year award for the second time in his career.
Other fighters on Reynoso’s books include world champion Julio Cesar Martinez and Oscar Valdez, whilst at one point training Ryan Garcia and former unified world heavyweight champion Andy Ruiz Jr.
All of whom train at his own gym called House of Boxing, located in San Diego, California.
