McAfee has an idea of who is going to win the game, and he expects it to be monumental for the College Football Playoff.
According to McAfee, Texas A&M has the edge, and they will keep Notre Dame out of the playoff.
It is a bold prediction, but Notre Dame is already 0-1. With the Fighting Irish unable to play in a conference championship game, falling to 0-2 would drastically affect their playoff chances.
McAfee sees Notre Dame missing the playoffs, but Saban thinks there is no way it will happen.
“I’m saying right now, Notre Dame is going to get into the playoffs,” Saban said.
“You have Texas A&M, I say Notre Dame is going to win out.
“Marcus Freeman is the man that will bring them along [to the playoffs].”
“I got the field, you got Notre Dame,” McAfee replied.
Fans had mixed opinions about which side of the bet would win and shared their thoughts on social media.
“Bold statement considering he led ND there last year,” one fan said.
“Welp, the Aggie hate is in full effect!!” another fan said.
“He’s betting on the Irish,” a third fan said.
“The more Coach Saban likes @NDFootball, the more I like Coach Saban,” a fourth fan said.
Texas A&M and Notre Dame kick off their matchup at 7:30 pm ET on Saturday.
