Wegmans, which rivals Trader Joe’s with its curated selection of fresh produce and gourmet items, issued the recall Friday.
The recall affects three Wegmans brand products, all with “Best used” dates of September 1, 2027.
The New York-based supermarket chain is urging customers to return the items for a full refund.
Products included in the recall are FYFGA Fruit Cocktail, FYFGA Halved Pears in Pear Juice, and Organic Sliced Pears.
Each can carries specific UPC codes to help customers identify affected items.
The company in its statement said lead levels in these products may exceed regulatory guidance.
Customers who purchased these items are advised not to eat them.
Refunds are available at any Wegmans store, with no questions asked.
This is not the chain’s first recent recall.
In August, Wegmans pulled its Medium Camembert Soft Ripened Cheese and related products over potential Listeria contamination.
That recall involved items sold between July 1 and August 12 across Connecticut, Delaware, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, Virginia, and Washington, DC.
Products included plain Camembert, assorted cheese flights, and specialty cheeses like Grilling Camembert with Tapenade & Roasted Tomatoes.
No illnesses were reported, but Listeria can be dangerous for children, the elderly, and people with weakened immune systems.
Wegmans worked with Estancia Holdings, the supplier, which was notified by a French company about the contamination risk.
Customers who bought the cheese were contacted through automated calls using the store’s Shopper club data.

Earlier this month, on September 11, Wegmans also recalled Goodles Vegan is Believin’ Plant-Based Mac & Cheese.
The recall was due to undeclared milk, posing a risk for those with allergies.
Affected packages are 5.25 ounces with multiple “Best By” dates in July 2026.
In July, Food and Drug Administration recalled Wegmans’ Semi-Sweet Chocolate Nonpareils sold across the chain’s 112 stores.
The chocolate contained milk, but the packaging failed to warn allergy sufferers, posing a potentially life-threatening risk.
The 18.5-ounce treats were made by Mellace Family Brands in Ohio.
Wegmans said the error stemmed from a temporary breakdown in the supplier’s manufacturing process.
