Tony Romo was very worried when he saw the Bills QB leave the field[/caption]
While on commentary, Romo, a huge Allen fan, expressed his concern for the quarterback.
He said, “Oh my gosh, something’s wrong.
“This is not OK. He would never do this.
“Something’s wrong, Jim. Wow.”
The 29-year-old was hit late in the first quarter and immediately ran off the pitch.
He called for a replacement, Mitch Trubisky, to sub in as he went and sat down on the bench, being assessed by the medical team.
Romo and Jim Nantz agreed that this was unusual and feared for the worst, especially when Trubisky joined the huddle for a second play.
Romo commented, “Concern now, this is Josh Allen we’re talking about.
“He’s still out…he wouldn’t sit out this long unless it was something.”
It turned out that all the NFL star had was a bloody nose, but Romo was in pieces in the commentary box.
After two plays on the sideline, Allen returned to the field with his nose plugged and resumed as normal.
Speaking after the game, the QB discussed how he was feeling after the hit.
He remarked, “We can breathe, so it’s good.
“Obviously, gushing blood, so I just wanted to try to get off the field and stop it.
“I take a lot of pride in being able to withstand some of those things [hits].
