IRAN has brutally executed another alleged spy by hanging – as the flailing regime continues to root out those who supposedly helped Israel during the 12-day war.
Dad-of-two Babak Shahbazi, 44, is the latest alleged spy sentenced to death by the mullahs – who claimed he gathered intel for Tel Aviv while working as a contractor.

It comes as terror group Hamas, an ally of the Islamic regime, stand on their last legs in Gaza – with Israel launching their ground offensive on the tiny enclave.
The hanging comes as tyrannical supreme leader Ali Khamenei continues crack down on alleged foreign agents.
Executions of people convicted of spying for Israel have skyrocketed this year – with at least nine death sentences carried out in recent months.
Shahbazi, who was industrial refrigeration installer, was accused of collecting information from security rooms and data centres while on the job.
He allegedly used his position fitting fridges to gather intel from sensitive locations to pass on to Israel, the Islamic regime claims.
State-run media said Shahbazi also worked alongside Esmaeil Fekri – another accused spy who was executed in June.
Shahbazi, who was hanged at Ghezel Hesar Prison, Karaj, is said to have been tortured into a false confession.
He allegedly sent a supportive letter to Volodymyr Zelensky, offering to help fight in Ukraine while also slamming Iran’s ties to Russia, human rights organisations say.
Interrogators reportedly used Shahbazi’s knowledge of Microsoft Word as “evidence” that the man was an Israeli spy.
Middle East watchdog Iran Human Rights have blasted the espionage narrative, asserting that Shahbazi was subjected to prolonged torture and solitary confinement before he produced a false confession.
The human rights group said: “Babak’s message to President Zelensky offering to help in the war against Russia was used as an example of espionage for Israel – who they absurdly claimed taught Babak how to use Microsoft Word.”
He was executed on Wednesday following his arrest in January 2024.
The 12-day war kicked off with Operation Rising Lion, which saw Israel attempting to derail Iran’s nuclear programme by striking Tehran’s enrichment facilities.
The merciless mullahs are known for their callous executions – last month, chilling footage showed a murderer being hanged from a crane in front of a grim, cheering crowd of locals and children.
Sajad Molayi Hakani was killed in the city of Kordkuy, Golestan after being found guilty of robbery and murdering a mum and her three kids in October.
On Monday, Israel launched its fresh ground offensive to occupy Gaza City in its latest bid to root out Hamas and eliminate the terror group once and for all.
The Israeli military announced the start of the operation while also warning the million Palestinians still stuck in the tiny region to move to “humanitarian areas”.
The new offensive, as reported by Axios, marks a major escalation in the brutal almost-two-year-long war.
It also follows recent weeks of increased airstrikes on Gaza City, targeting what the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) say are Hamas strongholds.

Dramatic pictures have shown flattened buildings and decimated high-rise apartments following the strikes.
The IDF warned residents to move south as Israel launched its ground operation in the famine-stricken city – and the US cautioned Hamas “time is running out” to make a deal.
Israeli forces said the increased operation “to destroy Hamas’ military infrastructure” has started after heavy bombardment on Monday night killed at least 20 people in northern Gaza.
The country’s Defence Minister Israel Katz announced “Gaza is burning”.
Roughly a million Palestinians were living in Gaza City before the evacuation warnings.
And over 220,000 have been forced to flee northern Gaza over the past month because of Israeli strikes.
Israel said it’s been urging Gaza locals to evacuate for the past month but charities warned Palestinians face “an impossible choice” – either flee and face dying of starvation on the road or stay and risk being killed by Israeli forces.
Iran ramps up executions

PARANOID Iranian leaders are hellbent on ramping up repression on home turf in a dramatic bid to stamp out rebellion, insiders say.
It comes as Iran’s regime has been left red-faced by the downfall of Syria’s dictatorship as well as severe defeats of its terror proxies.
Executions are said to be taking place every couple of hours as Iran slaughters its people in “unprecedented numbers”.
Iran has one of the most horrific human rights records in the world, and according to campaigners also holds the harrowing title for the highest execution rate.
The Sun previously revealed how dozens of people had been sentenced to death by stoning just for adultery.
Harrowing records leaked from Iran’s torturous prisons also showed how thousands were holed up on death row for petty crimes.
In 2024, the Iranian regime ramped up the executions of its own people – including women, children and political prisoners.
Official records show that the number of executions last year reached 1,000 – the highest number in 30 years and 16 percent higher than the previous.
Of those on record, 34 were women and seven were under 18 at the time of their so-called crimes.
The National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI) fears the true toll is much higher as many of the deaths are kept secret, however.
Most of the surging executions are by hanging, but there is also evidence of other medieval torture punishments including public flogging, limb-removal and eye-gouging.
It comes as the UN today confirmed Israel has committed “genocide” in Gaza since October 2023, with the “intent to destroy the Palestinians”.
Meanwhile, US Secretary of State Antony Blinken cautioned Hamas “time is running out” to make a deal, citing the dangers “an intensified” military campaign posed to the war-torn region.
Referencing a path to peace, he said he hoped “it can happen through negotiation”.
It’s understood 20 hostages remain under Hamas’ control.
The Israeli PM has been uncompromising in his determination to wipe out Hamas.
The war in Gaza has killed more than 64,000 people, according to the Gaza health ministry.
