A BJ’S shopper has slammed the company because their coupons were not automatically applied to their purchases.
The customer fumed that they instead had to search through hundreds of coupons to find the ones that could be used.

This is after several major retailers like Walmart, Kroger and Safeway quietly changed their own policies to impose limits on how customers use their coupons.
Walmart recently imposed limits on combining digital coupons, while Safeway stopped allowing coupons that expired within 30 days to be used.
Now, at BJ’s, customers are crying out for coupon discounts to be automatically added to purchases.
One shopper on the social media platform Reddit wrote that the current policy is not good enough considering their membership status.
They wrote: “I have the premium membership and pay $120. fee annually.
“Bj’s has the duty to give me their lowest price available including coupon discounts on everything I purchase.”
They pointed out out that Costco rolled out this process a number of years ago.
Costco recently made its coupon book for July to August 2025 more accessible than ever.
The warehouse retailer made it so all shoppers saw the book, not just members.
SUGGESTED CHANGES
In the comments of the Reddit post, others begged BJ’s for the same change to how its coupons work.
One person shared how they lost out on savings because of how the savings are applied.
They said: “I agree. I’ve missed out on some coupons because I thought they were clicked on but when I got home I notice I didn’t get the discount.
“There needs to at least be a place to ‘select all’ when clipping the coupons on the coupon page because what I do now is go one by one and click them all but still seems some don’t come off at checkout.”
The US Sun has reached out to BJ’s for comment on the complaint, but did not hear back before publishing.

COUPON CHANGE
The supermarket chain Meijer is now rolling out its weekly sales promotions on Wednesdays and not Sundays.
Meijer’s weekly promotions will now be valid from a Wednesday through to the following Tuesday.
This puts Meijer more in line with other supermarket competitors like Aldi and Kroger.
A spokesperson for the Michigan-based company said that the change benefits its employees, too.
They commented: “The change allows our team members to focus more on customer service during our busiest weekend days and work on tasks associated with the ad break during the week, when stores are not as busy”.
Aldi announces its weekly Aldi Finds ads in-store and online, while Kroger similarly doesn’t distribute promotions as mail-out flyers anymore.
More chains like Target, Walgreens and Giant Eagle have also ended their mail-out flyer campaigns.
