Mirai, the Telugu fantasy-action-adventure thriller, directed by Karthik Gattamneni, is presently running to packed houses in the theatres. The film stars Hanu-Man fame actor Teja Sajja in the lead role, with Manchu Manoj, Jagapathi Babu and others in the prime cast. Actor Pawan Chopra, who plays the role of K.N. Bagchi in the film, had an amazing experience being part of the cast.
For Pawan, Mirai is his second big Telugu film after the successful association for Sita Raman, starring Dulquer Salmaan and Mrunal Thakur. He plays a sound scientist, who helps the Black Sword (Manchu Manoj) to find the ninth book. He is a Nobel Prize Awardee in Mirai.
We at IWMBuzz.com talked to Pawan Chopra about his shoot experience in Mirai.
Pawan Chopra said, “It was a two-and-a-half-year period of hard work that we did for Mirai. I was shooting for Bade Miyan Chote Miyan in London when I got a narration on the phone for Mirai. It got me very excited. I came back and went to Hyderabad for a narration. I was excited after meeting Karthik Gattamneni and the Writer, Mani, when I understood the concept and role.”
Pawan said about his experience, “We shot in Nepal, Sri Lanka, Thailand, and extensively in Hyderabad. Many times, I had to go in the morning to Hyderabad, shoot and return the same evening to Mumbai as I was part of other projects. The shoot was very tough, and we gave everything for our Director. Karthik is a passionate director, and working with him was an exciting experience.”
“I had my tough moments speaking in Telugu on set. But I was well-received by the unit. It was a pleasure working with Manoj Manchu. He made it very easy for me. I had most of my scenes with him. My biggest takeaway from the film was working with him. This is my second film in Telugu after Sita Ramam. I have to say that I am in love with Telugu cinema. I was treated so well by the entire unit and the Producers. I was there from the start to finish and was involved in all schedules,” he added.
Talking about films needing dedication and hard work, Pawan specified, “Cinema is not a cake-walk. It is not about coming out of your vanity, shooting under the AC and going back. Shooting for a film requires your sweat and hard work. Mirai has taken a lot of hard work from everyone involved in it. I have great respect for the Telugu industry. Today, the film is getting good results for all the hard work.”
Well-said!!
