Melania Trump’s state banquet dress leaves fashionistas mesmerized over specific detail but what do you see?

MELANIA Trump put on a bold display in an off-the-shoulder yellow gown as she arrived at the State Banquet at Windsor castle on Wednesday evening.

As official photographs of The First Lady, 55, circulated on the internet, people were left mesmerised by one major detail of her floor-length frock.

People were left baffled by the real colour of the yellow frock and belt[/caption]

Her belt – is it purple or is it pink?

In some shots of the super-swanky evening, the first lady’s accessory appeared to be baby pink in one snap but then in another – a soft shade of lilac.

But that wasn’t the only thing social media users were left baffled by – they also were scratching their heads over the real colour of the strapless floor length, long-sleeved dress by Carolina Herrera.

While in some photos the statement dress looked bright yellow, in others it appeared to be a more subtle shade of buttermilk yellow.

“First Lady Melania opted for a yellow off-the-shoulder dress with a side split, which she paired with a wide pink pastel belt,” noted one social media user.

In contrast, another commented: “Melania wears a purple belt, green earrings and a gold dress.”

The latest debate is reminiscent of THAT optical illusion dress that divided the internet in 2015.

Thanks to THAT viral dress, you either belonged to the group of people who believed it was blue and black, or those who saw white and gold.

And it’s likely that the confusion over the colour of Melania’s frock and belt has a similar explanation – it’s been caused by flash photography.

Thankfully, for anyone eager to know the truth behind the real colour of The First Lady’s dress, you’re in luck, because insiders have waded in!

A source close to Melania told Daily Mail that the dress was actually buttercream yellow with an ‘Easter purple’ belt.

Providing clarity on what the shade ‘Easter purple’ actually is, Fabulous Digital’s Fashion Editor Abby McHale explains: “The belt seems to change colour depending on which picture you see.

“The shade is actually ‘Easter Purple’ relating to a lilac shade, however in some lights the belt is appearing as a pale pink shade.”

Melania, who can be seen standing next to her husband, President Donald Trump, and alongside King Charles and Queen Camilla in the photos, wore her blonde hair down and completed the look by accessorising with a pair of sparkling, dangly earrings.

And according to Fabulous’ Fashion Editor Abby McHale, Melania’s bright choice of dress may be her “boldest” look to date.

“Melania is usually someone with quite a sharp dress style, often wearing structured silhouettes as we’ve seen already on this state trip, stepping out in a Burberry trench coat and grey Dior suit, so this yellow bardot dress is her boldest look so far,” she says.

“The bardot long sleeve gown with a purple or pink waistband (depending on which picture you see) is from American designer Carolina Herrera, the bright yellow shade was certainly eye-catching.”

Abby adds that whether bright or buttermilk in shade, Melania’s decision to wear yellow may have been intentional.

How can optical illusions and brainteasers help me?

Engaging in activities like solving optical illusions and brainteasers can have many cognitive benefits as it can stimulate various brain regions.

Some benefits include:

  • Cognitive stimulation: Engaging in these activities challenges the brain, promoting mental agility and flexibility.
  • Problem-solving skills: Regular practice enhances analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
  • Memory improvement: These challenges often require memory recall and can contribute to better memory function.
  • Creativity: They encourage thinking outside the box, fostering creativity and innovative thought processes.
  • Focus and attention: Working on optical illusions and brainteasers requires concentration, contributing to improved focus.
  • Stress relief: The enjoyable nature of these puzzles can act as a form of relaxation and stress relief.

“Yellow is a shade often associated with happiness, positivity and optimism, something maybe Melania is hoping to portray with this look,” she says.

“Bardot style necklines have certain rules within the royal family, with them being acceptable and glamorous evening occasions such as last night, but not during the daytime – something Melania has abided by during this visit.”

As photos from the State Banquet were released, several social media users rushed online to praise Melania’s bold look.

“Only Melania could pull off a yellow dress and beige belt,” complimented one.”I’d look like a banana with bandage wrap. Most beautiful FLOTUS in history.”

A second commented: “I love Melania’s dress. Elegant, flattering, chic..”

A third added: “Melania Trump has the most elegant, unique, and beautiful fashion sense.

“That yellow dress at the King’s address last night.”
