But today, the wives are being greeted by Chief Scout Dwayne Fields at Frogmore Gardens in Windsor, Berkshire.
Kate and Melania will help two groups of the Scouts’ Squirrels scheme take part in their Go Wild badge.
They are helping the youngsters build a bug hotel and try leaf printing using fallen leaves collected from the gardens.
The pair will hand out badge presentations for the youngsters and, as a special treat, Kate has organised a packed lunch for the children.
Each Scout will receive sandwiches containing honey made by The Princess of Wales herself from the Wales family’s hives at Anmer Hall.

The Princess of Wales is Joint President of the The Scouts Association with the Duke of Kent, a role she has held since 2020.
Earlier this year, she met Chief Scout Dwayne for the first time while celebrating the power of the great outdoors.
The countryside has become a key theme for Kate ,who has hailed connection with nature as helping her recovery from cancer.
Chief Scout Dwayne asked The Princess what she thinks when she visits the countryside after “all the stress and strains of regular life”.
Kate replied: “I find it a very spiritual and very intense emotional reconnection I suppose, these environments.
“Not everyone has that same relationship perhaps with nature.
“But it is so meaningful for me as a place to balance and find a sense of peace and reconnection in what is otherwise a very busy world.”
Meanhwile, Mr Trump bid a formal goodbye to the royals and arrived at the Prime Minister’s country estate to rub shoulders with the PM.
Trump shook the King’s hand on the stone steps of Windsor Castle and told the press he is a “great gentleman and a great king”.
The President will hold a joint press conference with Starmer, and Downing Street is likely to be bracing for a barrage of questions.
The US leader flew to Berkshire in Marine One and then drove to Chequers in The Beast, where he shook hands with the PM.

Ahead of their meeting, Sir Keir unveiled an influx of investment from big American companies this morning.
He posted on X: “Today we have secured a historic £150bn of investment commitments from US companies into the UK.
“Creating 7,600 high quality jobs and driving growth across the country.”
The British PM and Trump appear to get along like a house on fire – despite their many differences.
After visiting the Scouts, the First Lady will then travel to Chequers to join her husband as the last pieces of the state visit take place.
Sir Keir and Lady Victoria will bid farewell to the Trumps at Chequers.
Lord Chamberlain will also be in attendance to wave them off on behalf of King Charles.
Mr Trump will not visit Parliament – as is usual for visiting heads of state – as the House of Commons will be in recess for party conference season.
Last night, he lavished praise on Charles after the monarch said they were the “closest of kin” during a speech at Windsor Castle.
The US leader sat next to the King for the opulent banquet after a spectacular day of events kicked off his historic second state visit.
Trump, who was dressed in white tie, beamed as he arrived alongside King Charles, Queen Camilla and Melania, who dazzled in yellow.
Addressing Charles directly during his speech, the President said: “This is truly one of the highest honours of my life.

Trump received a warm welcome yesterday[/caption]
“I have such respect for you and such respect for your country for many decades.”
Trump added that it was a privilege to be the first US president to be honoured with a second state visit.
The American leader joked that he hopes this is the last time such a precedent is set.
Talking of the phrase “special relationship”, he said from the American point of view the word ‘special’ “does not begin to do it justice”.
The Trumps stayed overnight in the 1,000-year-old castle as guests of the King and Queen.
Yesterday, Trump – who was known to have huge affection for Queen Elizabeth – also movingly laid a wreath at her tomb.
The US leader added it was a “huge honour” after he was allowed ten minutes there.
The late monarch hosted the Trumps for a state dinner six years ago.
Yesterday afternoon, the Trumps and the Starmers joined the King and Queen to watch an amazing display by the Red Arrows.
The dreary skies provided a backdrop for the stunning red, white and blue smoke, delighting the US leader as he grinned and clapped.
The group watching from a raised platform looked slightly windswept in the autumn weather.
But as the magnificent display continued, Trump and Charles still chatted animatedly.

The King joked for Trump to ‘watch out’ for the sword as they inspected the Guard of Honour[/caption]
Pomp and pageantry was out in full force, with the scale and spectacle of the military ceremonial on show unprecedented.
A lip reader told The Sun that Trump greeted William as “my friend” as he arrived this morning, before saying to Kate: “Hello, beautiful.”
The President asked after the Wales‘ children, with Wills replying that they’re doing well and are at school.
The American couple joined the royal family for a scenic carriage ride through the green parkland to the castle.
Charles and Trump seemed deep in conversation as they rode next to each other in their 172-year-old carriage during the procession.
Queen Camilla and US First Lady Melania Trump also travelled side by side, followed by Kate and Wills.
Some 120 horses and 1,300 members of the British military were involved in the elaborate welcome at Windsor.
It featured the largest ever Guard of Honour for this occasion.
There was obvious warmth between the King and Trump as they laughed and appeared deep in conversation while walking together.
And the President appeared delighted as he was invited to inspect the guard of honour – thanking the commanding officer four times.
Charles joked “watch the sword” as a warning to the US President when the captain raised his blade to signal the end of the inspection.
